The Town of Morrisville commissioned us to undertake a needs assessment and visioning study for the future of cricket in Morrisville, with a particular focus on Church Street Park. The ambition was to align cricket development with wider economic growth, placemaking and community objectives while maintaining the park as an accessible civic asset and strengthening relationships with USA Cricket and Major League Cricket.
We worked closely with town leadership, departmental representatives, cricket organisations and regional agencies to develop an integrated advisory framework spanning town planning, transport planning, asset optimisation and estate optimisation. This enabled a holistic assessment of how the site could evolve as both a high‑performance sporting venue and a valued community park.
The study identified the opportunity for Morrisville to establish itself as a premier East Coast cricket destination, rooted in the park’s wooded character and civic identity. Proposals included broadcast lighting, a new playing surface and two pavilions, increasing capacity to 9,300 spectators and providing international‑standard facilities. Landscaping improvements strengthened connectivity and reinforced the park’s role as a civic amenity. The resulting vision sets out a viable, distinctive and community‑integrated cricket venue for the long term.
Shaping a flexible, future‑ready venue
Our Estates Optimisation advisory services focused on how the park’s estate could support both elite cricket and everyday community use. The Town needed a strategy that addressed fragmentation, operational pressures and future growth while maintaining accessibility. We developed an integrated framework spanning site analysis, stakeholder engagement and scenario testing to understand how facilities, circulation and landscape could evolve cohesively.
The resulting vision balances high‑performance sporting infrastructure with community amenity, ensuring the estate remains flexible, distinctive and resilient. By integrating landscape improvements, civic identity and long‑term operational considerations, we supported the Town in shaping a venue capable of adapting to future demand while retaining its wooded character and public value.

Unlocking value through strategic clarity
Our Asset Optimisation advisory services supported the Town of Morrisville in understanding how Church Street Park could evolve as both a high‑performance cricket venue and a community asset. The challenge centred on balancing elite sport requirements with civic expectations while ensuring investment decisions were grounded in evidence. We assessed existing facilities, operational constraints and future growth scenarios to identify opportunities for improved performance and long‑term value.
Through coordinated design and advisory input, we shaped proposals including broadcast lighting, upgraded playing surfaces and new pavilions that enhance capacity, functionality and user experience. Our specialist advisers ensured that asset‑level decisions aligned with wider placemaking, economic development and community objectives, strengthening the park’s role as a distinctive East Coast cricket destination.
Enabling sustainable event operations
Our Transport Planning advisory services addressed the critical challenge of managing future event growth while maintaining park accessibility. The Town required a strategy that reduced vehicle movement, supported sustainable travel behaviours and ensured safe, efficient operations during major cricket events. We assessed circulation patterns, parking pressures and regional transport connections to identify viable interventions.
The strategy prioritised park‑and‑walk and park‑and‑ride solutions, reducing congestion and strengthening sustainable access. By embedding transport considerations within the wider vision, we supported a venue capable of hosting larger audiences without compromising community access or environmental performance. Our advisory role ensured transport planning aligned with operational resilience, civic identity and long‑term growth.
