BDP Quadrangle wins leadership award at the 2025 CLF Ontario Embodied Carbon Awards

This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional, scalable and influential leadership in reducing embodied carbon across the built environment. BDP Quadrangle’s submission highlighted our studio-wide commitment to integrating low-carbon thinking into every aspect of our design practice - from pioneering mass timber projects to advancing adaptive reuse, publishing industry-shaping research and training every designer in embodied-carbon literacy.

In recent years, we have surpassed our validated Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) emissions reduction goals, completed more than 100 whole-building life cycle assessments representing over 3 million square metres of floor area, and collaborated with industry partners to make embodied carbon assessment a shared standard of care. Our work has helped shift design culture toward transparency, accountability and carbon-first decision-making at scale.

Winning this award is a meaningful recognition of the passion, innovation and collective commitment of our sustainability leaders, design teams, partners and collaborators. It reflects our belief that architects can drive significant climate impact - and that meaningful change happens when design excellence and environmental responsibility move forward together.
