Designed as a wellness-focused destination for tenants, the project supports a more balanced, people-first workday, where productivity, connection and restoration coexist seamlessly.

Working closely with GWL Realty Advisors, the design positions amenity space as an integral extension of the workplace ecosystem rather than a collection of isolated programs. The result is a curated sequence of environments distributed vertically, each aligned to a distinct pace and purpose throughout the day.

The concourse level, connected directly to Toronto’s PATH network, is anchored by a flexible conference centre designed to accommodate town halls, training sessions and large-format events. Hospitality-inspired pre-function spaces and integrated digital infrastructure extend the experience beyond formal meetings, encouraging informal gathering and exchange. A light, refined material palette enhances clarity and openness below grade, reinforcing focus and engagement.

Marcella Au

“This project was about designing for the full rhythm of the workday - creating spaces that support focus, restoration and energy in equal measure. By thinking vertically and experientially, we were able to craft an amenity environment that feels both elevated and intuitive, and that genuinely responds to how people want to work today.”

At grade, the atmosphere shifts toward restoration. A welcoming wellness lounge offers space for informal collaboration or quiet pause, complemented by thoughtfully designed facilities including showers, change rooms, lockers and sauna. High-end finishes, warm tones and layered lighting prioritize comfort and ease, supporting both physical wellbeing and mental reset.

Above, a vibrant fitness level introduces energy and activation. Here, bolder colours and expressive materials convey momentum and movement, completing a vertical journey from focus to calm to vitality. Material and colour strategies are used throughout as spatial tools guiding movement, shaping mood and maintaining a cohesive architectural language across all levels.

Integrated within the 1 Adelaide Complex and located at the centre of Toronto’s transit network, the space strengthens the relationship between tenant and workplace while adding tangible value for existing and prospective tenants within the office tower. By creating a destination that is as considerate as it is functional, the project supports efforts to bring people back to the workplace and demonstrates how design-led amenity spaces can meaningfully enhance the value of office environments while responding to the evolving expectations of today’s workforce.
