Iran Lighting Design Conference

WHEN: 9th-13th January
WHERE: Olympic Hotel, Tehran Province, Tehran, Bolvar-e-Gharbi-ye-Estadiyom-e-Azadi, Iran

Lighting director Colin Ball will deliver a keynote address at the 3rd Iran Lighting Design Conference and Exhibition in Tehran on Tuesday 10th January. His theme will be A Place to Dwell – The Night’s Economy and he will explore how lighting has evolved in cities to have a major impact on the total economy, often up to 40% of the daily total.  Research studies demonstrate the changing cycles of the brain and how our response to light differs from the morning, throughout the day and into the evening.  The principles learnt have been developed and practised over many years, particularly by the retail sector, and Colin will illustrate his talk with recent examples of successful BDP schemes including Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter, BoxPark Croydon, The Well in Toronto,  The Avenues in Kuwait and various InterIkea Centre China projects.
