Network Harvest 2018: Taking Charge of Change

Head of sustainability Philip Gray is speaking at this year’s Fit for the Future Network Harvest conference, presenting in the Happy and Healthy Buildings session on the subject of indoor air quality. Air pollution is a major public health risk which ranks alongside cancer, heart disease and obesity and approximately 40,000 deaths per annum in the UK are attributable to exposure to outdoor air pollution. Whilst indoor air pollution is less harmful research has shown that even moderately elevated levels of indoor carbon dioxide result in lower scores on six out of nine scales of human decision-making performance. Philip will explore current standards, guidelines and legislation on indoor air quality and ways of significantly improving air quality in buildings using as case studies BDP’s own London studio in Clerkenwell and the award-winning Enterprise Centre at the Norwich Research.
