When: 24th April and 7th June
Where:
Sheraton Sofia Balkan Hotel, Sveta Nedelya 5, 1000 Sofia Center, Bulgaria

Lighting director Colin Ball is a keynote speaker at both Share Belgrade and Share Sofia 2018, the international architecture and engineering forum for innovation and exploration of new materials and technologies for designing for smart and sustainable built environments. Taking as his theme a human approach to light Colin discusses how designing for people and how they feel in different environments leads to the creation of more successful places.  He is illustrating his presentation with the lighting designed for some recently completed projects including University of Roehampton Library, UCL Wilkins Terrace, Paddington Lawn, Smythe Library at Tonbridge School and Enterprise Centre, Norwich Research Park.

Colin is also presenting for the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) How to be Brilliant series on 25th April when he discusses the Darkness of the Unconscious looking at the human response to light from the point of view of depth psychology.  Drawing on work from Picasso, Jung, artists, scientists and philosophers he will show how a fear of darkness is formed and how it affects our world now.
