BDP Triumphs at Mixology Awards

BDP scooped two awards at this year’s Mixology winning both the medium commercial interior category as well as the public sector interior category which we have now won five times. The awards were announced on 23 June at Old Billingsgate in London.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society HQ won the medium commercial interior category. BDP completely transformed the building to create a new headquarters with a dramatic sunlit stairwell and atrium to encourage staff interaction and transparency.

Simon Redman, director of finance and resources at RPS, said of the new HQ “Professional, creative, caring, passionate and resolute, BDP guided us throughout our journey to design a new London headquarters which truly embodies the vision and values of our organisation celebrating the heritage of our past and the exciting developments in modern pharmacy.”

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool won the public sector interior category. The interiors were designed with a sense of openess and extensive use of coloured flooring and ceiling features to break down the length of the wards. Listen to interior designer Katharine Blankley discuss the design approach in our new film of the multi-award winning project in the video below.

Mixology is the most prestigious award ceremony and summer ball created for the dynamic and innovative interior design community, and the awards are given to the groundbreakers and boundary pushers recognising the most influential people and companies.
