Academy of Innovation and Research

Facts

Location Client Cost Size Completion
Falmouth, Cornwall, UK Falmouth University £2.4m 1,000sqm 2012

Project details

The Academy for Innovation and Research is a scientific research facility set over two levels. Sited in a prominent position above the approach road, a gently curved green roof springs from the sloping site providing spectacular views across the Cornish countryside.

The design changed very little from original concept through to completed building. It responded to the need to provide a highly flexible environment in which research and support business applications could take place. The completed building provides a highly flexible creative environment in order to assist in the growth of regional businesses working in the creative and cultural industries.

The building punches above it’s weight and provides the campus with a 'Wow Factor' building
