Light School - Surface Design Show

When: 9th – 11th February
Where: Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 0QH

Head of lighting and Vice President of the Institution of Lighting Professionals, Mark Ridler is again speaking at Light Collective’s Light School at the Surface Design Show.  He will present The World’s a Stage at 14.15 on Thursday 11 February and will explore the theatre’s influence on the application of light in architecture.  Many of today’s lighting professionals have worked in the theatre or rely on its techniques to transform materiality and form to convey meaning and emotion and Mark will discuss the ways in which theatricality can be deployed appropriately on projects.

The aim of Light School is to provide designers with education and knowledge about lighting design and products and the School Room attracted over 400 architects and designers in its first year – it is supported by the Institution of Lighting Professionals.
