The Hive - Collaboration with Wolfgang Buttress

When: Thursday 3rd November 18.00 – 20.30
Where: BDP, 11 Ducie Street, Piccadilly Basin, Manchester M1 2JB

Manchester studio is delighted to host an evening with artist Wolfgang Buttress who will talk about the Hive, the centrepiece of the multi-award winning UK Pavilion at the 2015 Milan Expo, and its recent relocation to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The sculptural installation is a collaboration between landscape and art that aims to highlight the decline of the world’s bee population and the importance of pollination to food production.

A drinks reception will be followed by the presentation and then a Q&A session with both Wolfgang and the BDP team who worked with him on the project. BDP provided landscape architecture, architecture, engineering and lighting expertise for the UK Pavilion in Milan and landscape architecture, engineering and planning for the relocation to Kew Gardens and in recognition of its outstanding success was awarded the AJ100 Architectural Collaboration of the Year Award 2016.

The event is free to attend and tickets can be booked by contacting leanne.ferguson@bdp.com
