Lighting Conversations Webinar

When: Tuesday 2nd June 18.30

Head of lighting, Mark Ridler will join artist and designer Jason Bruges for a Lighting Conversations webinar organised by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).  Mark and Jason will be in conversation addressing the subject of ‘The shock of the now – a creative response to the future’, discussing the impact of the current global pandemic on their current and future practice.  They will look at what the experience has taught us, looking ahead to future working methods and how the design community can contribute to the upcoming challenges.

Mark has over 30 years’ experience in lighting for theatre and architecture and human interaction with architecture through the medium of light is central to his philosophy and practice. Currently, he is technology strategy lead for the Restoration and Refurbishment of the Houses of Parliament, lighting director for Factory in Manchester with OMA and working with Herzog de Meuron and Hopkins Architects on two major laboratory projects.

Jason is internationally renowned for producing innovative installations, interventions and ground breaking works. His practice creates interactive spaces and surfaces that sit between the world of architecture, site specific installation art and interaction design. Considered a pioneer of this hybrid in-between space, he has subsequently paved the way for a new genre of design studios, artists and designer-makers.
