BDP secures planning approval for the UCLAN student centre

Planning permission has been granted for a new student centre and civic square as part of the University of Central Lancashire’s £200m masterplan.

BDP has been appointed to provide the town planning, building services engineering, civil and structural engineering, acoustics and lighting design. We are working with Hawkins\Brown who are the architects on the project.

The new addition to Preston Campus will offer a reception area, informal learning spaces and a student wellbeing support centre. At the front of the four storey centre there will be a 90,000 sq ft public square and to the rear of the building St Peter’s Gardens.

Contributing to wider regeneration in the area and providing a gateway to the university from the city centre, the project is scheduled for construction in early 2019 with completion expected for the summer of 2020.
