As a highly influential magazine based in New York, it has curated a industry leading ranking which focuses on sustainability in interior design. Data has been tracked through sustainability fees, as well as measurable sustainable initiatives which include tracking embodied carbon, WELL, LEED, and Fitwel certifications.

At BDP, achieving sustainable outcomes is fundamental to its overarching approach to deliver people-centred design. BDP is known for designing environmentally, socially and economically progressive places, focused on maximising the health, well-being, happiness and productivity of the people who use them.

With 50 years of unparalleled expertise in interior design, BDP was the first major practice to establish a dedicated interior design unit. Its designs focus on implementing timeless and adaptable choices and sustainable materials.

Chair of Design at BDP, Mark Simpson, explains: "Sustainability is at the core of what we do. We analyse and understand our clients' requirements and lead them towards environmentally-friendly choices at all stages. By doing so, we ensure that the places we create are cleaner, more durable, and inherently timeless."

As a global, multidisciplinary practice with studios in both New York and Toronto, BDP holds a unique position in bringing innovative designs to the North American market. Led by an experienced, multidisciplinary team in Toronto, its design studio draws on expertise in interiors, lighting, wayfinding and graphic design to create environments that support the brands they serve. Alongside its sister organisation, Human Space, it delivers places that promote equality, well-being and participation in the built environment; places that have a profoundly positive impact on the way people feel.
