Project details

New 650 pupil (5,490m²) second level school.

This school was built on the grounds of an existing school whilst the existing school remained in operation. Land availability was restricted which resulted in a three storey building being provided.

Brief

  • to provide a high quality new second level school and associated sports hall
  • to optimise the buildings layout, orientation, room locations and facade details
  • maintain the operation of the existing school whilst building the new school

Results

  • the resulting building made the most effective use of the relatively tight site and provides excellent second level school facilities spread over 3 stories with central atrium
