Project details

The new Maybole Community Campus combines community sports facilities including a pool, a 700-pupil high school, two primary schools and an early years centre into a sole, cohesive complex.

The single campus and combined building strategy, encourages sharing of facilities and eases the key milestone transitions that young people experience between nursery and primary and again between primary and high school.

The high school’s central hub contains facilities for dining, socialising, assembly and performance, ICT, library, and flexible resource areas, Including quiet study spaces. The central space and sports facilities of the high school will also be used by the primary schools. The two primary schools share their own hub with similar facilities but on a smaller scale appropriate for primary pupils. Facilities for use by the community, including a swimming pool, gym and games halls are accessed via a separate entrance, and has visual connection to the high school’s central hub. There is controlled physical access between the community zone and the high school to enable sharing while maintaining the ability operate both facilities separately.

The first phase of the campus is complete, and the schools are open to pupils and nursery children. The sports facilities will open early 2024 with the existing school to be demolished and the landscape complete by spring 2024.
