Project details

The historic Maze Hill building has been refurbished, with removal of much of the lower quality buildings that had been added on to the structure over the years, taking it back to something much more like its original form. Perimeter rooms are generally retained in keeping with the existing building and additional space is created by the insertion of an extension into one of the original buildings courtyards for dining and open /flexible learning.

The courtyard is covered with a lightweight ETFE roof which creates a new covered space that is both visually lightweight and maximises space.

A new infill structure to the NE elevation of the existing provides: New ICT facilities, new classrooms, kitchen, music and drama. The conversion of the existing gymnasium forms a dedicated 6th form centre.
