Giorgos is based in our Manchester studio with experience in healthcare, education, workplace, heritage and public realm lighting.

He joined BDP in February of 2014, after completing his master’s studies in Architectural Lighting Design in Stockholm’s KTH University. He is now a Senior Designer and project lead in various projects, including transport buildings, offices, educational, healthcare and heritage spaces. His responsibilities include project delivery, management, client engagement and reporting to the project director. He is also responsible for a number of lighting initiatives for the continuous professional development of the lighting team which include software research, training and interdisciplinary work within BDP.

He combines a strong technical background and in-depth understanding of the field of architectural lighting through scientific-based knowledge and practical experience in the area of artificial light and daylight.

Giorgos is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a member of CIBSE (MCIBSE) as well as Associate Member of IALD. He is also a member of SLL acting as the official representative for the Society of Light and Lighting in the North West. SLL is part of CIBSE and promotes good lighting design as an integral part of a healthy, ergonomic and sustainable future while maintaining lighting design standards and advising government bodies.
