Watford Parade

Facts

Location Client Completion
Watford, UK Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council 2014

Project details

The area has been transformed into a key civic space with the flexibility and capacity to accommodate a variety of outdoor events, attracting a wide range of contrasting visitors throughout the day and evening. A new 2,000 person capacity event space with integrated lighting has bold black and white paving and raised grass seating areas, creating a striking outdoor destination. A smaller event space on raised timber decking under mature trees encourages busking and impromptu break out performances.

The historic pond, a feature for over 100 years, has been enhanced through improved water quality and ecological value, stepped access, decked areas and outdoor dining adjacent to the water’s edge.
